Is there a way of making businesses known for their 'green' efforts? I think it would be a great idea to have a section of the local newspaper dedicated to 'green' involvement. It could promote businesses who make the exta effort to conserve the environment. Articles can explain things such as how many people are using the Stop & Shop cloth bags apposed to the plastic bags. Or, how the local diner is now donating 50% of it's waste scraps to a local farm, or how Dairy Queen has installed new energy efficient freezers, or how Borders has installed new solar panals, or that someone donated land to open space, or how there will be a beach clean-up this Saturday. If you want to print single-sided, you must switch the setting. Theoretically, you could reduce paper usage by 50%, which would save money and waste.
